Description
The Overdose Data Mapping Application Program (ODMAP) is a free, web-based data system that allows state and local public safety agencies to track the occurrence of drug overdose events in their jurisdiction and in surrounding jurisdictions. The system allows users to monitor the number of overdose events within a particular time frame and also to see the approximate location of those events on a map. Users can also be notified of unexpected increases (spikes) in overdose events within their jurisdiction. The system is operated by the Washington-Baltimore HIDTA and serves the entire United States. The data provided by ODMAP can be used to improve the allocation of resources and personnel, monitor the effectiveness of prevention, enforcement and response efforts in reducing drug overdose events, and identify overdose spikes quickly so that rapid response plans can be implemented. Access to the ODMAP system is limited to public safety agencies - law enforcement, emergency medical services (EMS), fire and rescue - as well as public health departments and some health care organizations. In Kentucky, data from law enforcement and EMS overdose response reports are automatically uploaded into the ODMAP system daily and are available to system users in near-real time. This free webinar will provide public safety administrators and emergency responders with answers to important questions, including: - What can ODMAP do for my agency? - What data can we get from the system? - How do we get access to ODMAP? - How do we add individual users? - How do we create spike alerts? - What other features does ODMAP offer?
